My name is Mrs. Carroll, I am both excited and honored to be joining this amazing team of educators and staff. I look forward to meeting you and your child(ren) soon and helping them meet their own personal goals for this school year and beyond!
A bit about me, I studied and received my Master's Degree in School Counseling at LIU and have always had a passion to help children. In my previous position, I worked closely with special needs students. I also worked in a Catholic School for the last 4 years, so I am extremely familiar with this setting and bringing God into my work. Some of my interests include spending time with family & friends, caring for animals, traveling, Disney World, reading and playing video-games!
My goal is to support the academic, career, and social/emotional development of our students. Often this will require my collaboration with administration, teachers, and parents to provide emotional and educational support for all students.
Students can meet with me during lunch or at a scheduled time. All students are welcome, counseling can be in a small group or individually.
Something new I hope to introduce to our students! Lunch bunch consists of small groups aimed to improve social skills, increase self-esteem, and peer relations. The group provides students with a "safe space" where they can talk freely about their stress, concerns, and/or ideas. Recommendations for possible participants are welcome from parents and teachers.
SEL Push-in Lessons
Occasionally I will push into the classrooms to provide Social/Emotional lessons to our students. Some examples of what the lessons may touch on are as follows:
